Must Read Books by Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl was a British novelist, short-story writer, poet, screenwriter, and wartime fighter pilot. His books have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide. He has received1983 World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement and the British Book Awards' Children's Author of the Year in 1990.

Dahl's short stories are known for their unexpected endings, and his children's books for their unsentimental, macabre, often darkly comic mood, featuring villainous adult enemies of the child characters. He is also known for inventing new words.

Dahl's first book, The Gremlins (1943), was written for Walt Disney but was largely unsuccessful. It was about mischievous little creatures that were part of Royal Air Force folklore.

The 1984 film Gremlins, produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Joe Dante, is loosely inspired by Dahl's characters, featuring evil and destructive monsters which mutate from small furry creatures.

If you haven’t read any of Roald Dahl's stories yet, then grab one right now. You will enjoy them without any doubt.

Here is a list of the wonderful books written by Dahl.

Will it gobble Billy too - or can he find a way to defeat the hungry beast?"
